Everything you need to know about our services.
A Sports Therapist is an allied health professional who has the knowledge, skills and ability to assess, diagnose and rehabilitate injuries, predominantly in a sporting environment. We use soft tissue treatments, sport and exercise principles to optimise performance and return to training or work requirement levels.
A Physiotherapist treats people affected by injury, illness or disability. They work in 4 key areas: neurological, muscular skeletal, cardiovascular and respiratory. A physiotherapist’s job is to return a patient to their day-to-day activities and life.
A Sports Therapist predominantly treats people affected by injury, and specialises in muscular skeletal conditions and rehabilitation. Their job is to return a patient to the physical demands required for their sport or recreational activity.

We will go through your completed assessment form, which will include information on the current injury/issue, past medical history, sleep patterns, general health and social history. We will then move onto an objective assessment, which looks at how the body moves as a whole. We may also examine individual joints, if this is relevant to your issue. Following a thorough assessment, an appointment typically then involves some soft tissue treatment, joint mobilisations, and finishes with some rehabilitation exercises to do at home.
The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, injury severity and personal goals. After an initial assessment, we will create a tailored treatment plan and provide guidance on the expected recovery timeline. Some clients feel improvement after one session, while others may need ongoing therapy for optimal results.
Receive high-quality treatment from a skilled and experienced Sports Therapist dedicated to your recovery and performance goals. At SCL Sports Therapy, you’re in expert hands every step of the way.
