No!! The title ‘Sports Therapist’ is a little misleading as we are qualified to treat anyone! SCL Sports Therapy has experience working with a variety of people, including

  • Multiple professional mountain bike (MTB) and road cycling teams
  • A professional giant slalom skier who competes for Austria and Denmark
  • Varying aged children with age/growth related issues
  • A professional Red Bull Free Runner
  • 3x semi-professional football teams
  • Many retired individuals, wanting to enjoy pain free gardening and low impact hobbies
  • A USA college tennis player
  • A retired professional rugby player
  • Countless ‘non-professionals’ who enjoy recreational sport and a healthy, active lifestyle
  • Even a Prince!!

We will go through your completed assessment form, which will include information on the current injury/issue, past medical history, sleep patterns, general health and social history. We will then move onto an objective assessment, which looks at how the body moves as a whole. We may also examine individual joints, if this is relevant to your issue. Following a thorough assessment, an appointment typically then involves some soft tissue treatment, joint mobilisations, and finishes with some rehabilitation exercises to do at home.

The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, injury severity, and personal goals. After an initial assessment, we will create a tailored treatment plan and provide guidance on the expected recovery timeline. Some clients feel improvement after one session, while others may need ongoing therapy for optimal results.
